Main Match #8...

We will begin the 8th round of "The Genius" game.

In the 7th round, Than was eliminated.

Now there are 6 players remaining.

Before we start the game, I will reveal how many garnets each player has.

22 garnets - Sam

21 garnets - Pete

19 garnets - Tomcat

15 garnets - Nat

8 garnets - Adam

5 garnets - Metsrus

I will now introduce the 8th Main Match.

The 8th Main Match is "Bean's Dilemma".

In Bean's Dilemma, you must use more beans for your team to win and you must less beans for an individual win.

Firstly, using Random.org, you will be divided into two teams: White and Red.

The game will consists of 5 rounds.

When one team get 3 wins, the game will end.

Each of you will be given 10 beans, which is placed in your confessional page.

Every round, you will decide on how many beans you want to use to be placed in a common container.

There is no limit to how many beans you want to place in it each round.

Each group will be assigned a room where you can discuss your strategy. All other rooms will be closed at the start of the game.

However, if you choose to leave your room to discuss with the other group, you are allowed to do so. You will then be removed from your group temporarily while joining the other group.

Two players from opposing groups can also leave their respective rooms and meet in the hall where they can discuss privately. However, they can be joined by someone from any of the other two groups and that  means they will be found out that they are in a room of their own.

So basically only the 2 WHITE and RED rooms plus the HALL room will be opened once the game starts.

After each player has put in their beans for that round, the results will be revealed.

The team that puts in the higher number of beans wins the round.

Whenever a round ends, the number of beans placed by the losing team will be revealed.

The winning team's number, however, won't be revealed.

When one team has 3 wins, the game will end and the player from the winning team with the most beans left will be the winner.

Players from the winning team will each receive ONE garnet for every bean they have remaining.

The winner/s will get a token of life as well.

Conversely, the player from the losing team with the least beans remaining will be the Death Match candidate.

This game will leave you with a dilemma.

For your team to win, you must put in as many beans but doing so might make you a Death Match candidate if your team loses.

You now have time to discuss as a whole group.

At the start of the game, you will be then know which group you are in.  The game will start at 7 PM EST.

As usual, if you need to break into your rooms before the start of the game, you can ask for a room.

you are not eavesdropping. you will be joining them to talk but a new thread will be setup for that.

So now Mets has 19 garnets while Sam has 8 garnets.

I'm gonna close all rooms for now and announce you your teams in the next post.

When you want to leave a room, you have to post on your respective room and if the group agrees with you leaving, you will be locked out of that room to either go to the other room or to the Hall. If you move out of the room or into a new room, you won't see any conversation that happens before or after your room. Only in the room at the time you are in.

You need to post on your confessional by the deadline how many beans you are using.

The first deadline will be at 8 AM EST.

You all should have access to your respective rooms.

Feel free to discuss until then what strategy should your room wants to take, if you can trust them.

If I want to go into the white room, for example, I have to post in the red room that I wish to leave. Do the people in the white room also have to accept me as a guest ? Can they refuse me access to their room ?

yes, they can if they don't want to. you have to post here that you want to go into their room. if not everyone agrees, you can't enter and will go back to your room.

Mas- say I want to go to the hall to talk to mets and Sam wants the hall to talk to Pete, are there individual threads or is there only 1 big hall thread for whoever is in there?

there's only 1 big hall thread. so basically just imagine you all are now locked in your own rooms, and you can only get out to the hall to go to the other room. so instead of going to the other room, you are just hanging out at the hall. so if anyone else chooses to go out, they either bump into someone in the hall or go into the other room, if they are let in.

We will start Round 2. It ends at 8 PM EST.

I heard catering is out in the hall. I'd like to wander out there and grab a snack. Anyone want to join me? I hear they have jelly beans, coincidence?
