Confessional #1

I just remembered to create a confessional thread cause I'm kinda bored while waiting for Blake to choose a Death Match opponent. Interestingly enough, Blake has gone missing, did he worry that he was going to be in the death match? I really enjoy this game so far...it requires a lot of strategy and working with people, which means turning on them will be more difficult. I'm especially close to Sam (Sailor Moon) and Kevin (mrduckbear). I might have tried too early and too aggressive to earn sam's trust maybe that made her nervous especially with our past. I was responsible for taking down her alliance in that game, and felt guilty about it. She seem like a cool person, and I wanted to show her that I'm not that villain that she played with in the past. I told her my intention to work with her and duckbear to the end is true. I hope she doesn't have any more doubt.

Another person I really like and admire is Adam (switza). He has shown to be a leader and a team player. That's the vibe I'm getting anyway. Initially I was worry about him being more of a host and knowing the playing style of each player. But so far he fits right in and seem to be a very likable player. I'm also a fan of Tomcat, he's very laid back so far, but I know what he's capable of and Tom is a champion, like so many other players in this game. Pete is a new player, but seems very astute and strategic. I would watch out for him.

Sorry to see Dana go:( She either panicked or didn't really understand the rules. If she did, she wouldn't have reveal her password, rather she would give a true answer and take a penalty.

I eliminated Blake.  He was a funny guy and somebody I would have like to keep around longer in this game for entertainment purpose.  But I saw how awesome he was at the 2nd death match and just wanted to challenge him in a head to head competition.  Not sure how I will approach this game moving forward.  I definitely will stick to Sam and duckie.  But what about adam, tom, and pete?  I've been talking to adam a lot, and I also feel i can trust tom.  As for pete we don't haven't communicate that much even though we are supposedly in the same group.  I think he's close to Than.  I don't wanna say he's not loyal to our group, but I will have to keep my ears and eyes open.

Another death match, another opponent eliminated.  Jess playing the final hand showed me she hadn't been keeping track of the cards, either that or she wanted to end the game right there.  I was also lucky to get the cards to land in my favor and was never really in trouble.  However, against strategic players like Tomcat, who has been watching the entire death match, I will probably won't have the advantage of keeping track of the card, also my playing style has been revealed to them.

With my good friend, mrduckbear gone I feel very vulnerable. I tried to help him prepare for the death match, Truth Detector, but wish we had more time for preparation. As is, Nat was able to defeat him and send him away. At least Kevin put up a good fight with the short time that he grasped the game, I am proud of him. There are only seven of us remaining. All of them are very strategic players and I don't expect any easy matches from now on.

The Horror Race seems like a fun challenge. Not sure who is working with who, but Adam and Sam both revealed their characters to me. If I can't win, I'll try to help them win. My plan is not surrender my coins until the later rounds, where I will slip to the end of the line and gain more control. And with me being in front of the line, I have the first choice in each round of skipping my turn.

This is gonna be a tough death match, and not certain if I'm gonna win.  From the practice game, seems like Than is very well informed of this game.  I'm sure he and Pete have analyzed this game thoroughly with each other.  He got a good hand and played it without any mistake that i could capitalize on.  I got a bad hand  and was forced to trade first, leaving my 1 Blue vulnerable and exposed.  He was able to build a quattro around that 1 Blue.   So the lesson is to not trade early and expose a vulnerable card that your opponent can build a quattro around.  But what if both players play the game with that lesson in mind?!?!?!  *cue the dramatic music* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nBB2bPwKWVg.   What I think will happen when both players are reluctant to be the first one to expose a vulnerable card in a trade, is the chances of neither getting a quattro go up.  In that case the players with the larger sum wins.  I would have to play considering that as a possibility.  I think the opening hand is extremely important.  High numbers are always good but I think I would probably prefer more variety colors, which allows me to delay trading as long as i can.  I think I will let him go first, in the second round, I will go first, there I will have the option of trading.  If i can trade a card that can't possibly be a use for him, I will.  However. I will not put a card out that will give him a chance of quattro no matter what. I rather not trade at all, and go the last round where we are force to trade and ruin both our chances at a quattro, if the numbers favor me.

This could be my last death match, so I thought I'd write a confessional.  What can you say about Tomcat, other than he's a true champ.  He burst into the scene in swita's Lsquared game in the middle of last year and dominated a cast of regulars and superstars including John, Rob, Tom Delonge, DanielB, kyogre, angel of purgatory, and etc. with just his first time playing.  This is where much of my admiration for him came from and i knew how dangerous he was/is as a player.   The death match black and white is very difficult to win because you only have a small window of opportunity to win before the game is tie.  I missed that opportunity during round 7 of game 2 when i put the white 7 instead of white 1, eventually allowing Tom to tie the game.  I felt really tired after the 2nd game, and thought I was playing very similar and giving off a pattern to Tom, so i thought he might have picked up on that and taken advantage.  Thankfully, we were allowed a break and i have more time to plan.  Tomcat, how do you beat this guy?????

In order to beat someone as cunning as Tomcat and end the stalemate, I knew I had to take more chances.  I noticed that we were starting to play in a pattern, he was playing with his low numbers early and save the large numbers.  I knew I could get a lead by playing my "5" and "6" in the first two round.  When I got to the point where my lead was very comfortable and the worst I could do is a tie, I decided to take more chances by playing differently and trying to end the game with the "8" and "7".  I think it caught him off guard, since we were both saving our high numbers at the end, in the past few games.

Looks like Nat is running away with the tenth main match, "The Big Deal Game".  His strategy to give the guest players a few points and hold on to most of the points himself worked, since I don't think the guests really care about how many points they receive but more than willing to give back, except for Adam who is going around begging everyone lol.   I gave points to all the players remaining in the game that really needed them.  I kinda felt bad for Pete since being a new player you tend to get left out of the "circle" and i know this is what he is probably feeling with all the games he played so far including this game, so i tried to be fair with him.  However it will probably be me and him going to the death match since we are way behind on points.
