Should I block Jiangshi and have the vampire move 1 and the zombie guaranteed 3, or tie them up (throwing all on 3 isn't really showing anything - could look like I'm blocking both) and rely on one having another coin for one of them?

Except if I block Jiangshi, it looks like a move against Mets and he might guess I'm vampire.

not really, cause if you;re holding 2 vamps and you block instead of taking a clear lead,it's hardly promoting the fact that you are a vampire

YOU'RE WELCOME, ADAM AND PETE!

Please, if you get another vampire, put it on 1 so I'm sure to move at least a little. Sad

Gumiho on 2 is obvious. Thoughts on my 2 mummies?

I'd either put the mummies on 3 (they won't beat zombie) or spread them. Spreading them might deflect more/look like you're not a mummy.

well, Than has Mummy and Jiangshi. I would split the 2 mummies between 1 and 3 , thus making it impossible for than to damage the 3 pointer, or the vamps 1 space. The important thing is that we will know exactly how many of each there are once this first rond is over, and we can dictate things after that

My thought was splitting too.

Ha! Gumiho wasn't a sure bet at the time I wrote that, though.

Plus, while you guys are great, I admit challenge-based teamwork tends to go against my nature (but I try hard). There's a reason my favorite sports are surfing and boxing. Very Happy

And yeah, spreading between 1 and 3 sounds good, so Than can't block.

Ha! I guess.

So it looks like we have zombie (3), Gumiho (2), vampire (1) moving. Jiangshi and mummy are the two in the mix that won't move, but our most common are Gumiho and Zombie. So best to keep them moving as much as possible, and move the rest opportunistically/as others place coins? Mummy seems to be the most bet on, which means the most people sharing in the loss. But to keep Adam safe, Zombie would ideally come in first or 2nd... but same for Gumiho, because it looks like I won't be sharing much of a vampire pool (I might be the only one), which means if Gumiho doesn't place well (and vampire doesn't place at all), I'm screwed. So Zombie and Gumiho are extremely important here.

I have the strangest feeling that there may be one more Gumiho left in the pack. Sam got one as part of her 3 pieces, and yet instead of placing it in the 2nd square, where there was already a Gumiho placed, she put it on square 3 , against a pile of other characters with no chance of winning. So I'm guessing that neither her or nat have gumiho....which would leave them with 2 of these combos :

mummy / zombie
mummy / vampire
mummy / jiangshi

I'm curious to see how the puddles will work - what people will do. But based on how this round went (bet with 3, block with 1) I'd guess the puddles, relative to position, will present a very clear-cut way to counter. I'm thinking that will be our best bet to really advance key characters, but we'll see what actually happens.

UPDATE :

Vampire / Jiangshi
Jiangshi / Mummy ---------- THAN
Mummy / Zombie -----------ADAM
Zombie / Gumiho ------------PETE
Vampire / Gumiho -----------TOMCAT
Jiangshi / Gumiho -----------METS
Vampire / Mummy
Jiangshi / Zombie
Mummy / Gumiho
Vampire / Zombie

These are the total coins for the rounds :

Jiangshi - 5
Vampire - 5
Zombie - 4
Mummy - 4
Gumiho - 3

Therefore Nat and Sam between them have a combo of :
Vampire / Mummy / Zombie / Gumiho

They're all surprisingly close. It's not like any have 6 (or 7, totally unchosen) or any have 2 - all could make it. Gumiho should have the most people fighting for it to win, which with the minor difference in coins, could help.

Also, good job on the Mole. And Adam, great concealment of Rachael - I remember thinking she'd be a good Mole so IMDb stalking her around when you made the decision, and tentatively ruling her out upon seeing her inactive for ages at the time. I guess that's why you hid the join dates on the forum. Very Happy

Thanks. I was disappointed when you both went out, because I knew you need active people for that game to work right. Nobody will think Henry or Javi is the mole when they never show up for any challenges. But you 2 and Turner leaving early lowered the activity a lot.

Yeah, I was bummed just because I barely even played.  And I still hold that the "money" is pointless.  Rachael did really well - good pick.

Anyway, I just realized the catch with the character in space 1 moving 1st, space 2 moving 2nd, etc...  Doi.  It won't come into play until the last move, though - and then only depending on positions at the time.  But it's something we'll need to pay attention to when trying to line up the pieces near the end (with a puddle at 11, 2 will become the prime placement).

Looks like the Jiangshi has the 1st place won ,and with already 3 coins used, that leaves the vampire or mummy to win the 3 space

There should still be a lot of zombies left. So it really depends on what Sam gets/where she places them... then we'll see what we have to work with from there.

I was thinking we're going about this all wrong. We keep seeing what we could move each round, but it might make sense to pick 2 to keep moving and just keep blocking the rest.

Zombie and Gumiho gives us each 1 win, and one of us (Pete) 2 wins. If we can just keep the others from moving at all (or moving much), it means when we get those 2 near the finish, then we can focus on getting another into 3rd and have a couple rounds to figure that out before needing to get one across the finish. 3rd place can very well finish 3rd on space 3 or 4, yeah? Gives a couple we pick a huge advantage while the others are struggling to move.

That said, I'm putting Jaingshi on 1. Should I put the zombies on 6? (Zombie would then be on 6, Gumiho - which should be a lock now - on 4). Or should I put the zombies somewhere else to have Vampire or Mummy win 3, thus keeping Gumiho in the lead (or tied) with Zombie close behind?

the only problem with that is the fact that there are only 3 gumiho coins available in any one round. It would be very difficult to organise

True.  Which is why I'm considering putting the zombies on 1, letting mummy or vampire move, that way nothing can outrace Gumiho.  Then we can figure out where to go from there next round. It also depends on whether you want to give Than a chance of winning (or not losing) or make him the fall person.
