We will now begin the 5th round of "The Genius" game.

In Round 4, Jess was eliminated.

Then, we will begin the 5th main match.

The 5th Main Match is "Scamming Horse Race".

I will explain the rules of "Scamming Horse Race".

Regardless of placing, you need to guess the 1st and 2nd place finishers of a horse race.

However, unlike a normal horse race, the result has already been decided.

Before the game commences, each player will receive a hint about the placings.

Also, we have prepared 3 additional hints.

You may view 1 additional hint for 3 garnets.

I will explain how to bet.

Each player will be given 20 chips to be used for betting.

When the game begins, 8 horses will race for 12 rounds.

The race is 20 spaces long and each horse may move a maximum of 3 spaces each round.

At the end of each round, you may bet on any horse.

You are allowed to split your bet on several horses, but you may not bet more than 3 chips in 1 round.

Also, you may not bet on any horse that is on the "No-Bet" zone.

The "No-Bet" zone are the last 4 spaces (Spaces 17 to 20).

When the game ends, the players who bet on the 1st or 2nd placed horses will receive a payout based on the racing odds at the end of the game.

Garnets received will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.

If you are certain about 1st and 2nd placed horses, you can increase the odds on those horses by preventing others from betting on them.

Any chips left over at the end will be discarded.

The player who receives the biggest payout will be the winner.

The player with the lowest payout will be the Death Match candidate.

You will receive 1 garnet for every 10 chips you won.

Using Random.org, you have been randomly assigned a hint.

It will be posted on your confessionals page in a few hours time.

The 1st round will commence on Fri, 10 AM EST.

Regarding the race lasting 12 rounds. Does that mean each horse will cross the finish on round 12, or could some be done at round 7, some finish in round 8, etc and the last place horse finishes in round 12?

by the end of round 12, 2 horses would have crossed the line. So the 20th space is considered the finish line and the horse needs to land on it. And they will start before the 1st space.

You may now place your bets on which horses that you want. You can spread your chips on more than one horse if you want. You cannot bet more than 3 chips per round. And you can change your chips or take them away before the round is over. Once the round is over, the chips you placed for that round is locked.

if you decide you want to change your bets after already placing it, i will only count your last post before the deadline of what you want your bets to be placed on.

I'm at work so I can't view the video. Is there an order the horses move? If at round 11, h1 h2 and h3 are at the 19th space, they should all cross the next round. Who would be declared the winner?

like i said, only 2 horses will cross the finish line at the end of round 12.

and remember, you can choose to buy any one of the three bonus hints at 3 garnets apiece. Please specify which Bonus Hint of 1, 2 or 3 that you wish to purchase.

So first or second doesn't matter necessarily. They'll pay out the same? I guess that's where my confusion is. I thought we had to pick h1 finishes first and h2 finishes second but we're actually betting on h1 to finish first or second?

yes, as long as you bet on a horse that finishes first or second, you receive a payout. the odds for both horses depends on how many chips are being bet on them. the lesser the chips, the better the odds.

As bets are placed, will you reveal the payout odds or are the odds not determined until the final round?

only the final odds matters. cos you receive payouts then. i will only indicate the number of chips each horse has at the end of each round. so just remember the more chips on those horses, the lower the odds will be. but what matters is only at the end for the chips payout to determine the winner/s and loser/s.

there might be some confusion about placing. just imagine that at the end of round 12, each horse's placement will be determined according which square they are. so that is their finishing placement. they do not need to cross the finish line. at the finish means at the end of round 12.
