Sam , as long as you play all your cards , and win just 1 round, then you're safe...because there are 11 players with 9 cards each...so 99 cards in total , which means at least 1 person will not be able to play all their cards. The most the challenge can have is 49 matches , with 98 cards played

Someone challenge me. I'll be playing a 2, so it's beatable/you can win.

This turned into a big mess. Hopefully one of us wins and none of us loses. I feel Jess will have nobody left to challenge when she gets on.

Just so no one freaks out, please remember that right now Sam and I (and Adam's close) are the majority in the group of people who would be voting for who goes to the Death Match. So even if you all get 0 points because you can't get rid of your cards... you're not automatically being sent to the Death Match (unless you really want, Mets - but please think that through).

I don't want you guys to step on anyone's toes.  just pick me for the death match.

I'll respect your wishes if that is what you truly want, Met, but do not think for a second that I'm afraid of making a tough call. I'm not. Just let me know. Okay so we need to develop a solid strategy for this. We also need to request another room...

I think the obvious strategy is start low and keep your high numbers to the end. But if he does same thing, you might start with middle numbers to get a couple quick points.

My first thought is, if Blake goes first, play a high number (but maybe not the highest, just high enough to be reasonably certain you'll win and to make Blake think you've played something high). 2nd round, Mets would go first - play a 0 or 1 and Blake might assume it's higher. 3rd round, something conservative to call Blake's tile. Basically, try to bluff into getting Blake to use higher numbers to get rid of lower numbers, and not using high numbers against low numbers (except maybe to set-up the bluff). Or start conservatively, since Blake won't be sure if the number is high or low (not revealed exactly what is played until the match ends), then sacrifice the lowest numbers accordingly.

*Most* people (but maybe not Blake) would save higher numbers for the last rounds (so you could usually assume at least 7 and 8 would be held onto), so it's usually not a bad idea to sacrifice low numbers at the very end (in most cases, it's a way to play your lowest against their highest). I'd also guess most people would play the 0 somewhere around round 3. But again, Blake is clever.

Most importantly, try to figure out Blake's strategy fast and adapt to counter it. That's the key. Keep a tally of what colors are played, and what beat what.

One more thought (sorry)...

This is counter-intuitive, but if you start with 7, either you win or, if he wins, you know he played his 8 and he still has no idea what you played.  If you win, you still have your 8 as a trump (2 wins).  Then it's a matter of strategy/noticing patterns for 3 more wins - but it *likely* gives you 2 automatic wins, or a definite win at the end.
